AOL Radio is an excellent application that allows all AOL members to listen to their favorite AOL and XM Satellite Radio stations, anytime they want. With AOL Radio, users can log in using their free AOL, Apple .Mac, or AIM account to access an extensive collection of radio stations.
Once inside, AOL Radio provides users with many options. Users can set up to 10 presets for their favorite stations or utilize the convenient search function to discover new music. Additionally, AOL Radio supports 5 presets, which can be easily set via right-click or control-click.
While Favorites & Local Channels panes will be available in future releases, AOL Radio 2.0 Beta 1 is already packed full of features. The software requires only 10 MB of free HD space, 256MB RAM, and Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later. Although it currently does not officially support narrowband connections, the software will deliver low bit-rate streams to dial-up customers. Furthermore, iChat status updates require 10.3 or higher.
As an early version of the software, AOL Radio 2.0 Beta 1 will continue to evolve throughout the beta cycle. Additional features are promised to be released down the line, making AOL Radio a great choice for anyone looking for a quick, easy and user- friendly radio app.
