Apache Protect X

Apache Protect is an intuitive GUI utility that simplifies the configuration and setup of the basic authentication capabilities of Apache. As a pre-installed web-server on Mac OS X, Apache allows for easy userfiles setup and directory protection with a username and password. However, this is often confusing and time-consuming when done manually through the terminal and Unix commands.

This software is designed to make the whole process of configuring Apache authentication quicker and easier for regular end users. The sleek Aqua interface of Apache Protect allows users to edit the password file containing usernames and passwords, as well as the configuration file with data for directory protection.

In this release, Apache Protect includes several new and exciting features, including saving into a configuration file and support for group files. Additionally, users can now take advantage of access control settings through IP and hostname support.

This software also comes with options for changing the accessfilename and configuration file path, making customization and flexibility even easier. Finally, minor bugs and memory leaks have been fixed in this release, making Apache Protect smoother, faster, and more efficient than ever before.
