ApulSoft apTrigga is a cross-platform audio plugin available as both VST/AU for Mac OS X and VST for Windows.
I recently had the opportunity to use apTrigga2 for audio sample triggering and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it a great choice for beginners and experienced users.

The plugin can be used on both Mac OS X (VST/AU) and Windows (VST) operating systems, making it highly accessible. Additionally, apTrigga2 has zero samples trigger latency, so you can trust that your audio will respond instantly.
With the prev/next sample buttons to scan through folders, users can easily move between different samples, while the powerful multi-sample modes allow for dynamic sample selection and crossfading. There's also the option to modulate triggered samples by level, pitch, and low pass filter.
In terms of compatibility, apTrigga2 supports drag and drop support for aif, wav & sd2 sample files, and can be used as a midi sample player for maximum flexibility.
Another notable feature is the included spikeGen, a spike pattern generator. This is great for sequencing drum sample patterns and extracting single instrument rhythms from drum loops, as well as producing atonal melodic patterns from grooves.
