AreaList Pro enhances the user interface for 4D with several improvements.
AreaList Pro is a software tool designed for implementing scrolling lists on 4th Dimension layouts. It is incredibly easy to use and allows for the display of arrays or fields. As a plug-in area, AreaList Pro is very fast and provides features that are not available using native 4D commands and objects.
With AreaList Pro, users can take advantage of horizontal scrolling, user-resizable columns, automatic column sizing and formatting, copy to the clipboard, drag and drop interfaces, and more. The contents of a list can even be altered directly by entering data into the AreaList Pro area using typed characters and popup menus, with full control over data entry.
AreaList Pro is incredibly fast, and its control objects like scroll bars and buttons follow the interface standards introduced with MacOS X, WinXP, and 4D 2003/2004. This software supports data passed through 4D arrays or field numbers. If you only want to display two columns, create two arrays or specify two fields and pass them as parameters to AreaList Pro. No string parsing or other contortions are needed.
Using AreaList Pro requires just one command, with no special formatting required. The Advanced Properties Dialog allows you to configure an AreaList Pro object in a simple pointing and clicking manner. Should more control is needed, several optional commands are available, giving complete control over the appearance of the area.
Customizing the appearance and configuration of AreaList Pro is also possible with the use of special tools. This allows customization to happen rapidly. AreaList Pro 8.0 requires 4th Dimension 2003 or greater to run.
