ASCII Table is a tool designed for programmers which allows them to easily find the ASCII codes for various characters.
As a programmer, I found the ASCII Table utility to be an incredibly useful tool. The software is carbonised and can be run under MacOS 8.6/9 and Mac OS X. I was drawn to this utility as my old System 6 style Desk Accessory started crashing under Mac OS 9 and I wasn't able to find a suitable alternative that could run natively under Mac OS X.
One great thing about ASCII Table is that you can easily highlight a character on the table by typing it on the keyboard. The utility then displays the corresponding ASCII code in decimal, hexadecimal, and octal. Alternatively, you can also click on characters on the table to achieve the same result. This feature is incredibly handy, especially if you aren't aware of the keyboard combination to type the desired character. Characters that are clicked and typed are also inserted into an editable field at the bottom. You can then easily copy and paste this information into other applications.
Moreover, there is an option to select a different font from the font menu located in the menu bar. This feature enables you to view all the characters in that specific font easily. Additionally, the table is resizable, which means that you can easily view the characters in larger sizes.
The latest release of ASCII Table has also fixed a significant bug; the character being lost when redrawn. This rectification ensures that you can efficiently work without any hindrance.
