I recently had the opportunity to try out Cathedral Diminished, a free soundset for the popular Adium IM client. The soundset features a pipe organ soundset and uses both fully- and half-diminished chords, arpeggios, and runs. What's particularly interesting about Cathedral Diminished is how the alerts were created: using GarageBand Orchestra Jam Pack and Sound Studio.
Cathedral Diminished's sounds activate on a variety of events, such as Connect, Disconnect, Contact Sign On, Contact Sign Off, New Message Received, Message Sent, Message Received, and Error. This means that you'll hear a unique, immersive sound for just about every situation.
