Cheapo!

Let me tell you about this software I tried called Cheapo!. To put it bluntly, it's basically just an RSS reader with some pretty basic styling enhancements. What's more, it's a closed-source application which means that you don't get to dive into the source code and make custom changes on your own. The idea here is simple, really: Cheapo! provides a customized list of deal sites that you can leverage to save some money.

Now, you might be wondering why this software exists when you could just use your browser to visit those same deal sites. Well, that's where Cheapo! comes in handy. It's essentially a companion application that you can use alongside other websites to scan through deals from places like Woot (which even supports Woot-offs!), Passwird, Slick Deals, Gottadeal, Buy.com and Amazon's Gold Box.

Overall, I found Cheapo! to be less exciting than I had hoped. While it does make it easier to browse through a list of deals from multiple providers in a single place, there really isn't much here that you can't accomplish with a web browser or by subscribing to RSS feeds on your own. So, while it's not necessarily a bad tool, I can't say that I would recommend it to anyone looking for a truly unique or game-changing experience.
