I had the pleasure of trying out Cisco Snmp Tool and must say that it is a great freeware Cisco Configuration Management Application. The latest version, Version2.0 Beta, comes with a map interface that supports the visual design of your network. I found the program to be easy to use at both LAN and WAN networks.
However, it is wise to increase the timeout and retry values when using it on WAN networks. For both LAN and WAN applications, 2000ms timeout, and 2 retry values are typically enough.
The current features of Cisco Snmp Tool are impressive. You can download and upload the Cisco Configuration for both startup or running modes. Additionally, the program allows for device reset and Write NVRAM execution, Telnet and Ping Device Function, and NAT support if you are behind a firewall of a NAT address.
One of the standout features is the easy-to-use Network Map Interface, which includes real-time device up/down monitoring for now, using just the ping method. Also, the program comes with a Cisco Discovery Protocol visual interface (CDP), making the backup and compare config options a breeze.
