ClanFX is a tile-based Javascript game engine created with CSS and Javascript for 2D game development.
ClanFX is a highly capable 2D JavaScript game engine, perfect for creating tile-based games. With its impressive array of features and functionality, ClanFX delivers an immersive gaming experience for users. Developed using JavaScript and CSS, this game engine is compatible with Firefox, Epiphany, and Opera browsers.
One of the stand-out features of ClanFX is its use of animated sprites, spell effects, buildings, tiles/textures, and basic game AI. The engine's 2D tile-based overview comprises 92 tiles, each measuring 64x64 pixels, while 30 different maps, showcasing over 50 buildings, are available for players to explore.
The engine also boasts over 100 animated sprites for NPCs and monsters, with four different directions and seven actions. The sound effects are managed through SoundManager, a JavaScript-driven, Flash-based audio player. Meanwhile, the AI system allows for pathfinding, chasing, evasion, patrolling, and guarding, aided by simple coordinate-based collision detection.
The engine features animated spells and popup bubbles for communication with NPCs (currently only NPC-to-Player). A majority of the graphics used are derived from Reiner's Tilesets.
