CocoaBornes

CocoaBornes is a software that has brought the classic French game, Mille Bornes, to Mac OS X. This game was introduced to the Mac by Greg Abbas in the early 90s, but has since then seen no updates. As a result, it was high time for it to come to OS X! As an enthusiastic player of Mille Bornes, I had been playing this game as a shareware program called ThinkC in 1992. It was only a couple of weeks before creating this version that I realized it was a card game.

Initially, I was working on a game called Chessera for the uDevGames competition, but due to artwork delays, I didn't have enough time left to complete it. That's when I got the idea to recreate Mille Bornes for Mac OS X. With less than 21 days left, I challenged myself to create a new card game for the year's contest.

Thanks to the magic of Cocoa, I was able to create the game in less than a week. Not only does it look good, but it also plays well without having to use classic or setting my monitor back to 256 colors. I've incorporated some of the interface from the original but have managed to improve upon it as well. I consider this to be my best work yet.

In the latest release, there have been no code changes. However, we've added help information, so you don't receive the "No help available" message.
