CocoModX is a software that plays audio modules.
CocoModX is an audio module player with a range of capabilities. It can play various file formats, including MOD, IT, XM, S3M, MTM, 669, STM, ULT, FAR, MED, AMF, DSM, IMF, GDM, STX, and OKT, as well as zipped MOD files named MDZ. Moreover, it can download files from http and ftp sites.
One of the key features of CocoModX is that it allows users to administer their music library for managing their songs. It offers the ability to decompress ZIP and LHA files, as well as drag and drop files and folders into the player. CocoModX also allows users to drag and drop files from its playlist into Mail, iChat, and Finder.
CocoModX supports English, German, and Japanese languages and provides a Pinestrip and Brushed-Metal look. The software facilitates playing files from http and ftp, as well as specific URL types, such as cmx:// URL Type example. It offers full Finder integration, Dock-Menu navigation, and the ability to create a personal playlist. In the latest update of CocoModX, new features have been added, such as DigiTrekker and Digital Tracker playback support, updated MilkyPlay, and new MilkyPlay options with three octaves-limit and 8xx and E8x effect support. CocoModX now also offers better sub-song support, and it gets song-length from all MilkyPlay playable files (not AHX and Future Composer). Users can also now copy&paste files between two playlists, from and into other applications, and copy&paste selected tracks as text into the pastboard by holding the ALT key. CocoModX provides the ability to save search results by switching between playlists and added an info URL into the information window for the selected audio format. Furthermore, it has updated Spotlight plugin and removed FMOD from CocoModX.
Finally, CocoModX has fixed several bugs, including setting iChat Status back after closing the software, fixing time output after pausing or manual position change, and loading track information by adding compressed files.
