confiserie

Confiserie is a replacement for GNU/Posix systems of the popular gnu autoconf, and it is also the French term for "sweet". This software is designed to be a small, good-looking, and tasteful tool that can make developers happy. It includes a set of scripts to run and check specific requirements of a package, a script to help users maintain the package's scripts, as well as a set of Makefiles templates.

The main goal of Confiserie is to teach users good behavior when creating software, rather than solely relying on autotools without any understanding of the process. Second, autoconf requires the creation of many "unused files" which are files produced to produce another file using autotools, where only one file is required. This can be achieved more easily with well-designed shell scripts. Moreover, programmers often learn Shell to perform simple SA tasks and find autoconf scripts unreadable. The output of an autoconf/automake is often unreadable and does not take advantage of modern make.

Finally, Confiserie is designed to be educationware. Its main goal is to teach users good behavior when creating software and not solely depend on autotools without any understanding of the process.
