Customer Information Tracker

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Customer Information Tracker software, which provides an Eros BBS engine specifically designed for building a customer information tracker. One of the best features of this software is its two tables: the contact table stores first name, last name, pager, email, and organization ID, while the organization table stores the name of the organization, billing and shipping addresses.

What I found most impressive was the flexibility to add as many contacts and organizations as needed (within disk space limitations). The software also allows users to manage, edit, and delete contacts and organizations with ease. Furthermore, I was able to display a list of all contacts associated with a particular organization.

To get started with the software, I had to make sure that the group 'www' existed in my database, and then imported the cit-schema.sql file to postgresql. It was also important to ensure that HTML_QuickForm from PEAR was installed and working - note that a stable version, such as 3.2.5. (as of April 31st, 2006), is recommended.

One of the most recent updates to the software included a major overhaul of the table structure, which replaced all complicated tables with just two - organization and person. I found this change made the software even more user-friendly and streamlined.
