DL Download Ticket Service is a simple PHP-based download ticket service, featuring automatic expiration and minimalist design.
The DL Download Ticket Service project is a PHP-based, minimalist and rough download ticket service with automatic expiration. I have used this service as a replacement for email attachments in my company and find it to be a reliable alternative. As the developers have no plans to expand its features, it will remain as a basic software with no fancy features, and just bug fixes.
The installation process is simple. You just need to copy the "htdocs" directory to your chosen directory under your web server and configure the necessary parameters in the "include/config.php" file to reflect the external URL, main password, etc. Additionally, the "include" directory should not be accessible, but if you are using Apache, the included .htaccess file should suffice. Please refer to your web server documentation if you are not using Apache.
A spool directory outside of the web server root must be accessible to the web server process, configured as "/var/spool/dl" in the example "include/config.php". If your web server runs as "nobody:nogroup", you can create this directory by running the command "mkdir -p -m770 /var/spool/dl chgrp nogroup /var/spool/dl".
The maximal upload limit is determined by several PHP configuration parameters that you need to set correctly. These include: file_uploads, upload_tmp_dir, upload_max_filesize, and post_max_size. You can set these parameters using the ini_set() method inside the "include/config.php" file or through Apache's directives to localize them to the installation path.
There may be several bugs in the dba_open() function in PHP 4.x that cannot be fixed. However, if possible, it is recommended that you upgrade PHP to version 4.3.5 or higher. If you are unable to upgrade, you must configure the "$dbHandler" parameter to something available in your PHP installation (usually db3/db2/dbm) and use Berkeley's DB "db4_load" utility to create an empty database.
Ticket expiration is performed automatically when any web page is requested. However, expired downloads will still occupy space on the spool directory until a web page is first serviced. For very low traffic servers, it is recommended that you set up a scheduled job that requests the "" page to ensure that the spool is purged regularly.

However, byte ranges are currently not supported, and the submit button is not disabled correctly with Internet Explorer 6 (although it works on other graphical browsers). The latest version comes with new features like support for commas as email separators, comments while creating a ticket and allowing downloads to support byte ranges, allowing them to be resumed.
