Earthworm Jim

The Earthworm Jim video game is a platformer featuring Jim, an earthworm suited up in robotic gear, fighting all sorts of evil forces. The game was created by Shiny Entertainment and first hit shelves for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis in 1994. Since then it has been made accessible on other platforms such as the SNES, Game Boy, Game Gear, and Sega Master System. Later on, in 2001, a Game Boy Advance version was released.

Upon its initial release, Earthworm Jim was praised for a variety of reasons, such as the intricate detail of its animation, smooth gameplay mechanics, and its off-kilter, absurdist humor. It was able to achieve something many games before it could not - a perfect 100% review in GamesMaster magazine.

Additionally, a special edition of Earthworm Jim was created for the Sega Mega-CD, containing new soundtracks, superior graphics, and expanded levels. The game's following continued to grow with a new version that included redrawn 256 color graphics, an Earthworm Jim desktop theme, and all the previous improvements made for the Sega Mega-CD. The enhanced version was designed for Microsoft Windows 95, and it remains a classic favorite for players today.
