Easy DialUp is an ultra-simple web-based dial-up/modem client designed for Linux. It is the ideal Linux dial-up client for those who have no knowledge of what a Linux dial-up client is. The primary objective when developing Easy DialUp was to make the easiest dial-up client obtainable for Linux, allowing anyone to log in to the Internet without using the command line or going spastic. The idea for the development of the software emerged from the question, 'what is the best option for a dial-up client for someone who has no knowledge of a dial-up client?'

Easy DialUp has been designed from the ground up to cater to users who have no knowledge of Linux/ppp/dialup, and users who have no knowledge of any system or ISP usernames, passwords, etc. All the end-user needs to do is click on the 'Internet On' button, and the software starts working.

Easy DialUp has numerous features which make it ideal for use by individuals who are seeking to log into the Internet using Linux. Some key features of the software include the fact that it is designed for users who have no knowledge of Linux/ppp/dialup/etc. Furthermore, users do not need to have any knowledge of system or ISP usernames, passwords, etc. They only need to click on the 'Internet On' button and voila, they are online. It is simple to use, and once set up, everyone can connect to the Internet with ease. Another feature of Easy DialUp is PPP dialer independence, although this feature is still a work in progress.

The software is themeable, and the initial plan was for Easy DialUp to be set up on a PC by users who know what they are doing with pon/wvdial. The software would then be used by someone else such as a spouse, child, or grandparent, who has no knowledge of pon, wvdial, ISPs, phone numbers, passwords, etc., and who wants to log on to the Internet using Linux easily. As the software has matured, it is now a kick-ass dial-up client suitable for all Linux users.

The latest release of Easy DialUp has a new feature that prevents the timestamp from being printed to the screen once the 'Connecting' page detects an Internet connection.
