EasyRunner is a user-friendly software that allows you to add buttons and create sub-menus with associated commands and hotkeys. You can even lock the user interface to keep it from changes by the end user, which requires a password to unlock. This software is distributed as a starkit and you will need the tclkit executable for your platform. The documentation, README and LICENSE files, as well as the full source of the scripts and configuration file, are embedded in the kit itself.

To make the program run, you must make the easyrunner.kit file writable as it stores the configuration. If you want separate configurations, simply copy the kit with a different name. The program messages are in Portuguese, but you are welcome to translate them to English or other languages. The source code is included and can be navigated with the program itself. You can also get a tkcon (console) with the hotkey .

EasyRunner was written with the support of Ricardo Dália, Sérgio Limongi, and other friends at Acesso Ltda, Recife, Brazil. Here is a quick how-to guide:

To define a new button (launcher), simply click with the left mouse button on a blank area below or to the right of existing buttons. You can edit an existing button by clicking with the right mouse button. Clicking in the header area with the left mouse button will take you to the configuration screen.

The "lock" check button should be left unchecked until all buttons are defined. To unlock, you must enter the user "admin" and password "admin," which can be changed in the configuration screen. Launcher buttons can open a new shell or run straight from their command with no terminal. For Linux commands that will finish, you can use "hold" to keep them from closing prematurely.

A button with "submenu" activated will change for a new window with other buttons that can be navigated back by pressing the upper back button. You can drag and drop buttons to move them by holding and dragging with the left mouse button pressed. Hotkeys can be attached to any button, and you can use , , or plus any other regular key such as letters, numbers, or Fxx keys. The hotkey is predefined to allow you to return to the previous menu window.

Complex commands may have substitution rules for arguments. The symbols %1, %2, %3, etc. are substituted for the first, second, third, etc. arguments given as a list enclosed in braces. See the example with "ls" in the program. Overall, EasyRunner is a great tool that allows you to customize your user interface with ease.
