The Elecard AVC PlugIn is a software package that includes Elecard components for decoding AVC/H.264 (MPEG-4 P.10 ISO/IEC 14496-10) and AAC (ISO / IEC 13818-7) data. It is designed to be used with other Elecard products, including the MPEG Player, DVD Player, XMuxer Pro, and XMuxer Lite. The latest Elecard product updates, specifically G4 codecs encapsulation, mean that the current version of Elecard AVC PlugIn can only operate with Elecard MPEG Player version 5.1 and higher. However, the current version of Elecard MPEG Player can still work with any version of AVC PlugIn.

The Elecard AVC PlugIn has several features, including AVC/H.264 Video Decoder, which is a software-only ISO / IEC 14496 part 10 AVC/ITU-T Recommendation H.264 stream decoding. It also supports Annex B byte stream and RTP payload formats (FOURCC avc1). Additionally, it supports all features of Baseline, Main, and High Profiles and offers full-resolution full-quality decoding/playback. The software also comes with post-processing features such as deinterlacing, fields reordering, and chroma upsampling.
To maximize CPU usage, the Elecard AVC PlugIn takes advantage of MMX Extensions, SSE2, and 3DNow SIMD extensions when available. It is also optimized for symmetric multiprocessing, including Hyper-Threading Technology, multiple CPUs, and multiple cores. The software also has support for GPU hardware acceleration, making it a powerful tool for video playback. Finally, the Elecard AVC PlugIn can handle Closed Captions decoding.
The AAC Decoder included in the Elecard AVC PlugIn can decode MPEG-2 (ISO / IEC 13818-7) and MPEG-4 (ISO / IEC 14496-3, not including Amd.1:2003 and Amd.2:2004) AAC audio streams. It supports Main, LC, LTP, and ER BSAC audio object types and can handle up to eight audio channels.
