Enigma Enciphering Machine

This program is a representation of the Enigma Machine that utilizes virtual "wheels" containing all printable characters on the keyboard. Each wheel contains the same characters, but in a random, non-repeating order. The first wheel serves as the keyboard, and each time a character is pressed, the program indexes the location of that character on the first wheel and uses that location to lift the corresponding character off the next wheel. The process repeats itself across each wheel until the final output is lifted off the last wheel. This process is executed for each character in the message, and decryption involves sending the message through a similar, but reversed process.

What makes this encryption effective is that the program mimics the functionality of the real life Enigma Machine, and the wheels rotate either to the left or right after each character, causing the relationship between each character to shift constantly. Thus, the program represents repeating characters such as "AAAAAAAAAA" with garbage such as "BGPVLKHWCD".

Another great feature of this encryption scheme is the flexibility it offers. The user can add more wheels, change the number of characters per wheel, alter the order the wheels appear, modify the directions they spin, and change the starting position of each wheel to create a unique encryption method.

It's important to note that binary files require the Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime Library, which is usually pre-installed in Windows XP. Overall, this program offers a secure encryption method with various customization options.
