Fix Permissions By SW

Fix Permissions By SW is a command-line tool that runs the repair disk permissions command. It is important to note that there is no application to interact with since the installer itself is the program. This feature makes it a great addition to use with ARD/NetBoot. Upon running the installer, Disk Utility activates its repair permissions command in the background.

If you need to repair permissions once again, simply run the installer package once again. Fix Permissions by SW runs the simple command "sudo diskutil repairPermissions /" which makes things easy for the user.

As for what's new in this release, there are some exciting features. More system events have been incorporated of which have been completely logged. These log files are conveniently placed in separate folders for easy tracking (/Library/Logs/SISUWORKS/FixPermissionsBySW.log). Additionally, there is reduced dependency on executing commands as root since root authentication is already required.

Finally, the software has been forced to only run on Root volume, the currently booted volume, which helps clear up some confusion. All in all, Fix Permissions By SW is a robust tool that makes fixing permissions on your computer easy and quick.
