FreeVPS is a Linux-based software with virtual server technology, available for free.
The project is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). The solution ensures complete isolation of virtual servers and assigns each server a certain portion of the filesystem. In addition, each server has a separate root directory where all its processes run, restricted from other virtual servers, and its own virtual network connections.
FreeVPS is fully integrated with H-Sphere, an automated scalable web hosting software. The software provides an easy-to-use web interface to manage VPS configuration and hosting facilities.
The recent FreeVPS update also brings several improvements. The release adds experimental support for the x86_64 arch, fixes a kernel panic that occurred when starting VPS without Ethernet link, and solves uptime virtualization issues for context 1. Additionally, before this update, building of the ipt_physdev module was fixed.
Overall, FreeVPS provides a handy Linux-based solution for creating virtual servers that cut down your resource usage and keep your data isolated. Its H-Sphere integration is a quality-of-life upgrade that makes configuration and management simpler. The recent update made the software even more reliable and added some much-needed features.
