Upon installation, GBirthday will load an icon on the notification area of your desktop. From there, you can easily check upcoming birthdays within the next 30 days or look back at the past two birthdays recorded in your Evolution Contacts. If you need to refresh your data or would like to stop the blinking notification, simply right-click on the icon and choose the appropriate action.
To install GBirthday, just untar the file and run the install.sh script as root. If you want the application to run on startup, you'll need to navigate to System - Preferences - Sessions, add GBirthday to the list of Startup Programs, and specify "gbirthday" in the command field.
