Geometric image warping

The software being reviewed is capable of warping an image in such a way that a portion of it conforms to a specific form that is selected from another image. To illustrate this functionality, consider the example of an aerial photograph of a bridge with a curved shape that is to be matched to a rectangular map that contains a coordinate system. With this program, the coordinate system can be matched to the bridge or vice versa.

The process for utilizing this feature is straightforward: Both the image of the bridge and the map are loaded into the program's interface. Next, the user can specify the 4 corners of the image using the left mouse button. However, if more intricate warping is necessary, additional points can be added between the two first and the two last corner points using the right mouse button.
