You can choose to use a local text file or questions and answers from the online repository. Simply select your desired source and click the "Load Questions & Answers" button. Once loaded, the button changes to "Play the Game!"—click it again to start the game.
If you use a local question and answer file, you must ensure that it adheres to the required format. Those interested in developing their own files can see the guidelines in the app. GeoParty! offers the familiarity of traditional quiz games with its three rounds. Rounds one and two feature 30 questions each, divided into six categories. Additionally, the final round consists of a single question.
In rounds one and two, the point value for each question increases with the difficulty level (200 to 1000 in round one and 400 to 2000 in round two). During this time, players may additionally tackle bonus questions—GeoPortunity Questions!—which allow them to determine how much the question is worth by wagering a set amount. The final round does not have a point value, and each player can wager their entire score on the question.
