Functionally, ASCII 2 Image script is all about creating an image from a text-file that has been processed with Octave or something similar. However, it does come with some limitations, such as no support for multiple-layers or alpha.
To use ASCII 2 Image, you must first choose an ASCII file that you want to visualize. Then, with knowledge of its column size and row size, enter those values and select the gray or color option before pressing okay and waiting. After a while, you should see your matrix visualized on GIMP.
On the other hand, Save 2 ASCII is all about saving the image into a text-file for processing with Octave or another similar package. Similar to ASCII 2 Image, it comes with some limitations, such as the inability to save layers.
