Gloom Beacon from StrongGames is an exciting game that will test your strategic abilities. This turn-based card strategy game features role-playing elements and intense mahjong-style combat. Although the battles are not fast-paced, they are thrilling.

At the beginning of the game, the user must choose their character's gender and race. They have many to choose from, including human, elf, dwarf, Minos (a bull-like creature), Lahama (a demon-like creature), Rooh (a giant bird), Skogi (a rat-like creature) and Kanchhor (a snake-like creature). The user is then introduced to Oasis, a once prosperous trade center now shrouded in darkness, thanks to the Gloom Beacon created by the evil magician Krachont.
Krachont has enslaved the citizens of Oasis, turned the former king into a ruthless monster and imprisoned the queen. Many warriors have attempted to defeat the evil magician and his accomplices, but to no avail. Now, it's the user's turn to fight Krachont and his numerous followers.
Each battle in Gloom Beacon consists of two parts, the chess-like board which displays the user's allies and enemy units. The squares on the board can affect the user's health and mana levels differently, depending on the square - e.g., a certain square may increase fire mana while decreasing water mana by 20 points each, having no effect on air and earth mana. This means that the user can choose which square to begin the combat.
In Gloom Beacon, every character (and allied unit) has a specific number of health points and four types of mana required for casting spells. Spells are represented in the form of mahjong plates, which means they can be cast by playing mahjong. But, remember: spells won't work if there is no mana available. The key to success is in assembling a strong troop, working out a strategy, and let luck shine upon the user's efforts.
