GNOME-Ding is a spellchecking and translation software that helps users check and translate single words through a user-friendly graphical interface.
GNOME-Ding is a user-friendly software tool that efficiently performs spellchecking and word translation tasks. It is equipped with an installed aspell-dictionary for spellchecking and a personal dictionary for translation, which is derived from the trusted Ding-Dictionary (Ding-Projekt). It currently supports the German/English dictionary and a basic German/Latin dictionary. However, the used Ding-Dictionary has been modified to allow better connectivity with the UTF8-Charset.
To add to its extensive capabilities, GNOME-Ding also features added dictionaries for de-fr, en-ar and more. However, the correctness of these dictionaries requires input from users. Additionally, it contains a German thesaurus, based on the renowned OOo, as an extension to the software. GNOME-Ding is created and supported by the Ding-Projekt, alongside Oliver Grawert's g2ding.

It functions well under Gnome2 and can increase in versatility as additional languages and dictionaries are added to the program.
