The Firefox extension notifies users when Google Reader updates are available.
The Google Reader Toolkit is an extension that has impressed me with its ability to notify me of updates in my Google Reader. The extension places an icon on Firefox status bar, keeping me informed about new updates.
What’s fascinating about the Google Reader Toolkit is that it was originally based on Bloglines Toolkit extension by Chad Everett. Unlike its predecessor, this addon is cross-platform and it can work on different operating systems including Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
Last, but not least, the Google Reader Toolkit can be used as a browser utility combined with Google Reader. However, it's important to note that this extension won’t work with Gmail Manager. But that's a small tradeoff for what the Google Reader Toolkit offers.
