GRacer

GRacer is an impressive 3D motor sports simulator that boasts a highly advanced physical simulation engine, allowing for unparalleled realism in behavior, including drift, wheel spin, and even accel turn. With the following key features, GRacer stands out from the competition:

Five different vehicles are available for players to choose from, including Formula (FR), CART (FR), HONDA S2000 (FR), MITSUBISHI Lancer RS Evolution VI (4WD), and Mini (FR). Additionally, the game offers one course, Sample Course 1, with the current release containing some other courses still in the early stages of development.

The game also includes a multi-level crossing and loop-the-loop course, but please note that this feature is not yet fully functional. While the linux joystick driver is supported, settings for the Microsoft Sidewinder force feedback wheel are hard-coded.

Sound in GRacer is provided by the SL library included in PLIB, featuring realistic exhaust and skirl effects. The game is playable, and the finish line is reached by running a specified lap. New GRacer memories record your high scores, but sharing them with friends is unfortunately not possible.

Minimum system requirements include OpenGL or Mesa, Glut 3.7, Tcl 8.0, libgif or libungif, libjpeg, and libpng, as well as the included SL sound library. In the latest release, bug fixes have been implemented, and camera positions have been optimized for a more realistic driving experience. Additionally, parameters for both vehicles and courses have been updated.
