GroupVille is a web-based groupware and collaboration software designed to improve team productivity and communication. It offers features to manage tasks, events, and projects, share and store files, and communicate in real-time.
GroupVille is a cross-platform groupware solution built on top of Apple WebObjects 5.2 for Java. It provides a web-based groupware environment with a unique infrastructure for information management and sharing, as well as webmail/messaging, calendar of shared events and invitations, tasks, and contact management. Additionally, GroupVille includes a Wiki, News, a Forum, and a FAQ system.
The software is free for up to three users and offers paying versions for six users up to a site license. In the latest release, GroupVille has added support for Tomcat deployments, which means that there is no need to install WebObjects on the deployment server. A separate download file is available (GV Servlet Single Directory), and a separate deployment guide for Tomcat has been added.
Other features include GV Chooser popup window with a User Preference option to open Chooser on login, GV File uploads with a browser check to allow for traditional in case the GV plugin is not available, and small bug and UI fixes in the user interface.
