I recently tried out GTagger, a gtkmm ID3Tag editor that exceeded my expectations. The interface is user-friendly and allows for effortless browsing of file lists, selection of a particular file, and ID3Tag editing and conversion. One standout feature of the program is its automatic suggestion of file names that are most suitable to the tag which can be easily accepted by the user.
In some cases, system requirements for compilation or linking may not be known by the 'configure' script. However, using a Bourne-compatible shell, you can set initial values for variables in the environment. For instance, on the command line, you can set CFLAGS to -O2 and LIBS to -lposix with CC set to c89. Alternatively, systems with the 'env' program can set CPPFLAGS to -I/usr/local/include and LDFLAGS to -s.
The newest release of GTagger includes an update to configure.ac, with AM_GNU_GETTEXT_VERSION bumped up to 0.11.5. Overall, my experience with GTagger was positive and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use ID3Tag editor.
