gTipi is a software designed for laboratory work in physics and electronics, compatible with GNU Linux platforms. The program is based on Gtk and GtkPlot for data visualization.
The gTipi software, based on Gtk/GtkPlot technology, is designed specifically for physics/electronics laboratory work on GNU Linux platforms. This software aims to provide a free and open-source alternative to the commercial front-end for lab work called Regressi, which is limited to the Orphy GTS/GTI hardware and only runs on Windows.
However, Regressi comes with many features that high school students may not require. Therefore, gTipi has been designed to be much simpler and initially will only offer the most significant features.
At present, the gTipi software only supports the Orphy GTS hardware using liborphy. Still, it can easily support other hardware too, as long as there is a model to test and specifications to write acquisition functions (or existing libraries). In fact, gTipi is deliberately designed not to depend on any particular acquisition hardware.
