Hurt Me Plenty is a gaming-oriented Linux distribution that focuses solely on providing an immersive gaming experience to its users. It comes loaded with a variety of features that make it an appealing option for gaming enthusiasts. Some of the key offerings of Hurt Me Plenty include Doomsday and several other addons and wads, Quake2 shareware along with engines and wads, Descent 2 shareware, Tuxracer, Dreamchess 2000, and some Flashgames.

As mentioned earlier, Hurt Me Plenty is a purely gaming-focused distribution and doesn't include any software related to printing or office-related tasks. However, it provides internet connectivity through the inclusion of Netsurf and Seamonkey. Additionally, it comes with Wine for examining new Quake2 wads.

To use Hurt Me Plenty, it is recommended to have a 700 or 800 MB CDR. Once burned, simply start from CD or install it frugally. The setup process involves booting it up, setting up keyboard and Xorg (Video), rebooting, creating a save-file, and copying the SFS files from the Iso to your disk. It's important to confirm the copy process; otherwise, playing games won't be possible.

All game files and 3D drivers are contained in a large file, mgamesa_083.sfs, that is 580 MB in size. You can start playing immediately after a reboot, although if you have an Nvidia-card, you should be offered an additional graphics setup. If you don't have a swap-partition, it is recommended to create one using "gparted."

HurtMePlenty saves all data to a file called msy_save.2fs, which should not interfere with any existing versions of Muppy-Linux. It's important to note that although this uses the "msy", it is not an official Minisys-Linux. The included games are critical to library conflicts and have been recompiled to ensure a smooth gaming experience.

In conclusion, if you're a gaming enthusiast looking for a lightweight and immersive gaming experience, Hurt Me Plenty is an excellent option. With its variety of games and addons, it provides everything you need to have a full-fledged gaming setup on your desktop.
