The ipmiutil package offers several utilities to allow users to access and configure the firmware System Event Log and the Platform Event Filter table for the new OS Critical Stop records. This package includes several files such as showsel, pefconfig, tmconfig, fruconfig, hwreset, sensor, alarms, wdt, checksel, and their respective man pages.
The showsel utility allows users to display the firmware System Event Log records. On the other hand, pefconfig allows users to configure the Platform Event Filter table, which includes the BMC LAN alerts from OS Critical Stop messages, as well as to display and set the BMC LAN configuration parameters. Tmconfig is a utility that allows users to display and configure the serial port for BMC access.
In addition, the fruconfig utility allows users to display decoded FRU board/product information and write FRU asset tags. Meanwhile, hwreset is responsible for hard resetting the system. Sensor utility displays the sensor data records and fru data. Alarms, on the other hand, shows and sets the Telco alarms while wdt allows users to show and set the watchdog timer via IPMI.
