JRSteganoactivex is a 32-bit Activex Control designed for Steganography. This software has the unique ability to hide and extract any data file inside a perfectly normal 24-bit BMP or PNG file. The control allows users to build a file system inside of an image where they can add an unlimited number of text strings and files. However, the data size is limited by the picture width and height properties.
This software ensures that all data is encrypted before being added to the picture, and it is designed with an optional user password for additional security. Only JRSteganoActivex can extract the data from the image.
This software comes with various features, including AddText, AddData, and AddFile methods. It also has GetText, GetData, GetFilename, and GetFile functions, along with the ClearAllData method to format the JRStegano picture inside the file system. The software also has complete online help and a detailed demonstration project in VB6.
The software distribution includes different types of files, such as the JRStegano.ocx activex control, JRStegano.dll the Stegano Library, JRStegano.chm Windows-HTML-Helpfile, test.png and test.bmp graphics files with steganography data, JRStegano.exe demo of using JRSteganoActivex, and DemoVB6 Visual Basic Demoprojekt with Source Code.
To test, don't forget to register the control JRStegano.ocx or run the installJRSteganoOcx.bat. Also, please copy the JRStegano.dll to Windows/System. To distribute, users must add the JRStegano.ocx and the JRStegano.dll files to their installation routine. The JRStegano.ocx needs the VB6 Runtime module without any special Toolbox-control.
