This software allows users to set the time on their Palm device directly from a UNIX system. With this tool, Palm users can easily synchronize their device with the system clock and keep accurate time.
JustInTime is a useful software solution that lets you set your Palm device's time from a computer running UNIX, or any other platform that can run pilot-xfer. The installation process is straightforward, and I recommend you install this plugin while installing jpilot itself. Here are the steps you need to follow to install JustInTime:
1. Go to the JPilot source directory.
2. Configure, make, and make install jpilot.
3. Unpack the JustInTime plugin for JPilot - tar -xzf JPilot-JustInTime.tgz
4. Go to the JustInTime directory - cd JustInTime.
5. Configure.
6. Make.
7. Make install.
8. Install the justintime.prc file on your Palm device by whatever means you typically use to install programs.
9. Restart JPilot.
10. You're done.
Once installed, you won't have to worry about JustInTime as it runs in the background. Whenever you start the modified version of pilot-xfer with the -t option, the tool computes the time difference between your Palm device and the host computer and stores it in a small database on the Palm. If you are using JPilot with the JustInTime plugin installed, you won't need the pilot-xfer stuff. JustInTime automatically updates the device's time, and the previous database is deleted. That's all there is to it.

Unfortunately, there are a couple of bugs that I discovered while using this software. Sometimes the HotSync Manager crashes after receiving a new time. I still have to find a way to fix that. Additionally, sometimes, when the HotSync button is pressed after starting pilot-xfer, the tool aborts before connecting correctly. To work around this, press the HotSync button before starting pilot-xfer (just like you would with POSE).
