K12LTSP

I recently had the pleasure of testing out K12LTSP and I must say, I'm impressed. This software is based on RedHat Linux and the LTSP terminal server packages, making it a reliable and functional program.

One of the things I appreciated most about K12LTSP was how easy it was to install and configure. Once installed, the program allows you to boot diskless workstations from an applications server. This is a great feature because all of the applications run on the terminal server, meaning you can use older computers as low-maintenance diskless clients.

But what about the latest release? K12LTSP 6.0.0 is officially out and offers some exciting new changes. For example, the software is now based on Fedora Core 6 and includes a large number of updates and changes. Additionally, the package offers hundreds of updated FC6 packages, a bunch of packages from Fedora Extras, and a handful of K12LTSP packages, just to add some spice to the mix.

One slight difference with this release is that there is no specific 'LTSP' install option. If you want to do a 'normal' Fedora Core 6 install from K12LTSP 6, all you need to do is uncheck the 'LTSP' package group. Also, the 'Education' package group has been split up into two groups, giving users even more flexibility.

Overall, I highly recommend K12LTSP to anyone in the education sector or anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use terminal server package. With its impressive features and easy installation process, K12LTSP is certainly a top contender in its field.
