Kalva is a simple video recording tool with a compact design.
Kalva is a lightweight videorecorder application that provides an easy-to-use interface for scheduling and recording movies or serials. The application utilizes MEncoder to handle the actual work of recording. In addition, ktvapp is capable of importing channellists from tools like xawtv or xawtv4, allowing you to easily edit and save that list.
Although up- and downloading functionality is not currently part of the application, it is planned for a future release, integrating with KHotNewStuff. Regardless, ktvapp remains a straightforward and user-friendly videorecorder tool.
One of the standout features of ktvapp is its ability to schedule recordings, whether that be a movie recording by selecting a date using a calendar or a serial recording by choosing the days of the week (which populates your crontab).
