KFieldLines is a KDE screen saver software designed to use OpenGL technology. It offers a graphical representation of electric fields through the use of field lines.
KFieldLines is an OpenGL screensaver project specially designed for KDE users. It is a port of the original FIELDLINES XScreenSaver with a rewrite & rearrangement for KDE. As an OPENGL screensaver, it needs libGL & libGLU libraries, which are generally installed in all Linux distros. However, please keep in mind that the OpenGL screensavers' performance is dependent on your graphic card's power and its installation correctness (please configure the appropriate Xorg driver for your card).
The project offers sources and precompiled binaries packages for Felinux distro (and Slackware 11). Installation is relatively easy, but it requires opening a konsole and typing "su" and then entering your root password. Once you have access, type "installpkg kfieldlines-0.1-i486-1.tgz," and you're all set. You can now access KFieldLines screen saver by opening Desktop configuration -> ScreenSavers -> OpenGL. It's worth noting that this package is also compatible with Slackware Linux 11.
