Kickoff for CRUX

I recently downloaded Kickoff for CRUX software and found it to be a useful little port of Kickoff for CRUX. One of the features I appreciated was the animation on the Menu-Button. The installation process was straightforward, as I was prompted to use either pkgmk or prt-get to complete the installation. For those who want to access the entire repository, they can use the httpup file. However, if you only need Kickoff, you can use the following command - httpup sync kickoff.

I would recommend using the pre-install script to back up your normal kicker before building the software. Although it is recommended to use the pkgutils, Kickoff for CRUX offers a precompiled binary package for those who may encounter issues with autoconf, among other things. While there are no heavy optimizations, the package optimizes for generic i686.

One important point to note is that Kickoff will overwrite your normal Kicker, so it's crucial that you use the pre-install script to back up your normal kicker. Additionally, there are a few updates in the latest version. Some issues were fixed with newer SVN versions and additional patches were added. Further, pre-install and post-remove scripts have been introduced to backup and reinstall the normal kicker. Finally, there is a new precompiled binary package with a release date of May 24, 2007.
