I recently got my hands on kio_auto-autofs, a KIO Slave designed for KDE, and I must say I am impressed with how it functions. This software makes automounting file systems and partitions from block devices an effortless experience. It is built on a Perl script that scours the hardware found in the /proc directory via fdisk to spot the various partitions on hard drives and tries to detect the filesystems.

Additionally, it can create automounter entries for all ISO files or other loopback files in specified folders. This software is compatible with a configuration program for automount, and you can generate a map configuration file that syncs with your preferences. A file with all devices and a link for mounting and unmounting partitions is also created for easy reference.

Overall, kio_auto-autofs delivers seamless and swift automounting functionality for all ISO files or loopback files. It is straightforward to use and delivers excellent results. I recommend it!
