KLog is a logging software designed for KDE specifically for ham radio enthusiasts. It helps users keep track of contacts and manage their radio equipment efficiently.
As a software reviewer, I had the chance to try KLog, a Ham radio logging program specifically designed for KDE. Being my first time using a KDE program, I found KLog to have a few bugs that need to be addressed. Fortunately, the developers are open to ideas and suggestions from users, making it easier to improve the program over time.
One may wonder why we need another logging program, given that there are already many good ones available. However, KLog offers some unique features that make it worth considering. For instance, the program is exclusively designed for Linux, and it has many key features, such as DXCC award support, basic IOTA support, importing from TLF, adding/editing QSOs, saving/reading to/from disk file, English/Spanish/Portuguese language support, QSL sent/receives, deleting QSOs, and read/write ADIF.
The latest version of KLog comes with new features and improvements such as the enhanced graphical user interface that allows better management of entities. The program has now added basic DX-Cluster support, allowing easier access to DX-Cluster information. Users also have the ability to add a log file to the current file, delete QSOs, and manage QSL from the list. The show box now displays QSO selection's data, making it more helpful for users.
Overall, KLog is a good logging program that offers some unique features for Ham radio enthusiasts. Given that it's still a relatively new program, there are still some bugs that need to be fixed, but the developers are actively working on these issues.
