Developed by Tommaso Frazzetto
Kompile is a software that provides a KDE interface for the automatic execution of configurations, compilation, and installation of source tarball. The process of compiling and installing Kompile sources is easy, and once completed, new voices are added to the konqueror action menu for tar-based compressed archives such as .tar, .tar.gz, .tar.bz, and .tar.bz2.

Kompile offers a variety of features that make it the go-to option for managing applications installed from tarballs. One-click tarball installation with default commands is a notable feature, which involves decompression, compile, and make install. Another great feature is the one-click uninstall of installed applications from tarball with default commands, which involves decompression, compile, and make uninstall.

Integration in Konqueror's actions menu for common source archives, system traybar minimization, progress information from the traybar icon, and console output view for optional installation progress details are further features that make Kompile a must-have.

Using Kompile is straightforward; instead of command-line usage, you can select operations directly from the konqueror action menu voices. For instance, you can use the Automatic package install to install packages with default configuration and bulding options, which are "configure && make && make install." You can achieve this by typing "~]#kompile /archive/path/sourcetarball.tar.bz2."

The Automatic package uninstall option, on the other hand, allows you to uninstall packages with default configuration options, which are "configure && make uninstall." This is equivalent to typing "~]#kompile --uninstall /archive/path/sourcetarball.tar.bz2."

With this new release, Kompile offers even more value with features such as redesigned profiles management dialog, improved performance, and fixing of minor bugs relating to profile creation for default install operation and syntax problems in checkinstall invocation. The Polish language translation is also added, thanks to Bogusz Linda.

Overall, Kompile is a useful software for computer users who want to install applications and manage tarballs with ease. So, it is highly recommended for software management.
