I recently tested out the Laptop theme, a small software designed to display the battery status of your laptop. The theme is based on the 'Sensors' theme and incorporates the battery icons and some of the code from the sk_battery applet. Additional parts were taken from SuperKaramba examples. The overall design is simple and easy to navigate.

One feature that stood out to me was the addition of a mixer and penguin to the widget. The penguin helps to eliminate unnecessary apps from the panel and only appears when the widget is locked. This is helpful since I don't typically need internet connection programs like kopete and kcheckgmail when I'm on battery.

Initially, I planned for the penguin to hibernate my computer, but upon further research, I discovered that this can easily be done using KLaptop, so I decided to leave out this feature. However, if you want to incorporate this into your system, I've included the icon in the pics directory and you can modify the code by uncommenting and adjusting the last line in laptop.theme. Be sure to modify the paths for the icons in laptop.py as well.

Overall, I found the Laptop theme to be a helpful tool for monitoring my laptop's battery life. Its simple design and added features make it an excellent addition to any laptop.
