This app, which I developed, can save you time since it turns what used to be a tedious process of re-positioning windows into a simple one-click task.
Layout is actually a set of two different apps: "Get Sizes" and "layout". Get Sizes is the app you use to find the position of your application windows, while layout is responsible for resetting these windows to their default position.
Setting up the two apps is simple. All you have to do is open all the apps that you want to have positioned specifically, like Firefox or iTunes. From there, you'll run the Get Sizes SETUP to configure the Get Sizes app to fit your exact setup. Then you'll run layout SETUP to configure your version of layout. Once that's done, all you have to do is drag your version of the "layout" app to your finder toolbar, or to wherever you want it.
In case you need a little help getting started or have any questions, the package comes with an Instructions file for reference on how to set up your own configuration.
