lcdproc_amarok

LCDproc_amarok is a LCDproc client script designed for amaroK, which displays the currently playing song, its length, and its position in the playlist. For streaming content, the length will display as "streaming." While it is difficult to showcase how this script works with a screenshot, a video demonstration is available for interested users. It is essential to note that the video file size is approximately 40 MB.

The developer welcomes suggestions and ideas for further enhancement of this script. Additionally, this script offers some additional features customized to the developer's Medion MD8800 machine, but they are disabled by default, so they should not cause any inconvenience to users.

Users must have the latest CVS version of LCDproc to operate this version of the script. However, an older version that is compatible with LCDproc 0.5 is also available on the developer's page. Nonetheless, the developer will not maintain the older version.

The script's requirements include Perl, DCOP, and amaroK. In the latest release, the lcdproc_amarok.pl now goes to an alert priority for $alert seconds on track change and at startup. If you are not using LCDproc from CVS, change the priorities to numerical values, such as 129, 128, 1.
