Linnet

Linnet is an extremely useful bundle of pre-built and pre-configured software that specializes in providing Internet service provider (ISP) services, initially focused on email. It is a highly scalable and flexible platform that is suitable for both small ISPs operating in developing countries and larger ISPs that require a ready-to-run cluster node.

In addition, Linnet is an ideal choice for schools, universities, offices, and other organizations that need a simple-to-administer service platform that can expand as needed to meet growing demands. Currently, the software package only comprises email services, including SMTP, IMAP, POP3, and webmail. Still, future iterations will expand to encompass additional functionalities, such as web hosting and FTP, RADIUS, and more.

To begin using Linnet, you'll need to have a Unix system installed and be capable of following a set of easy instructions for untarring the software package and customizing its configuration files to support your site. No specialized knowledge in any of the included applications is required, as they all come preconfigured and working correctly out of the box. It's important to note that Linnet is available under the MIT/X Consortium License and must be licensed according to its agreement's terms.
