LinTrain is a software that is designed to be a DIY model railway control system that operates using a Linux PC. One of the features of the software is its rather primitive GUI interface. This GUI originated from Brian Ward's tktrain which was written in TCL and used a command station interface. LinTrain includes a replacement command station interface that can interact with the GUI.
Recently, a native GUI written in Python was added to LinTrain. This GUI uses a set of Python bindings to present the core LinTrain functions as a Python module.
The latest release of LinTrain includes a new baseline tarball. However, the project is still being developed and not yet ready for a proper release. Despite this, LinTrain offers many useful features that allow users to control their model railways.
