Loaded String is an impressive software that is available for free. This Java-based simulation tool is designed to illustrate standing waves on a vibrating string, which is also known as a loaded string. One can easily set the string in motion by clicking on "Center Pluck" or "Fundamental," or simply clicking on the string.

This software comes with a graph, which displays each normal mode's contribution to the string's vibration below the string. You will notice that there are two sets of bars below the string in the graph section. The bars at the top are known as magnitude bars and display the amplitude of each normal mode.

Furthermore, you can quickly adjust these bars by using the mouse or double-clicking on a particular mode to isolate it. Thus, making it easier to visualize the standing waves on the loaded string with much more clarity.
