LustyJuggler is a Vim plugin that enables users to switch rapidly between active buffers.
LustyJuggler is a plugin for Vim that enables swift switching between active buffers. If you find it frustrating to consciously think about which buffer to switch to, then LustyJuggler is the solution for you. The buffer-juggling speed of LustyJuggler is extremely high, giving you a seamless experience.
To activate LustyJuggler, you can use either of these key combinations: < Leader > lj or < Leader > lg. Once activated, the command bar at the bottom of the screen will be replaced with a new bar that shows the names of your currently opened buffers in the order of most recently used.
The buffer names are mapped to specific keys for quick access: 1st --> a or 1, 2nd --> s or 2, 3rd --> d or 3, 4th --> f or 4, 5th --> g or 5, 6th --> h or 6, 7th --> j or 7, 8th --> k or 8, 9th --> l or 9, and 10th --> ; or 0.
So, if you type "f" or "4", for example, the fourth buffer name will be highlighted, and the bar will shift to center it as necessary (and show more of the buffer names on the right). If you want to switch to that buffer, press "f" or "4" again or press "< ENTER >". Alternatively, you can press one of the other mapped keys to highlight another buffer. If you have changed your mind, you can cancel the juggler with any of "q", "< ESC >", "< C-c >", "< BS >", "< Del >", or "< C-h >".
To use LustyJuggler, you need Vim. To install, copy the script into your $HOME/.vim/plugin directory so that it will be sourced on startup. Note that this plugin requires Vim to be compiled with Ruby interpretation. However, if you do not have this functionality currently, you can refer to the "Install Details:" section of the script for directions on adding it, which is not too tough.
